Paper bag or plastic bag A question that is argued among the environmentalist and the producers as well. They argued on what will be used in grocery stores and supermarkets. Of course, everyone has gone through a department store then suddenly ask you paper bag or a plastic bag

But first lets see where they come from. Lets differ them from each other. The paper as we may know is made out from trees, unlike plastic that was made from oil.  We could say that the usage of paper bag is more convenient for the environment.but in reality, it is very bad for the environment hundreds and hundreds of acres of trees are deforested everyday. Not to mention the roads thathey clear to transport the logs. It can destroy habitats of species that inhabits the forest they clear. And the creation of paper uses gallons and gallons of water. When paper is thrown away it will go only to two places the landfill or the recycling center. In the landfill it will just decay over time. Unlike in the recycle bin the paper will go to the process of disintegration and renewal. In which it will undergo to many chemicals just like sodium hydroxide, hydrogen peroxide, and sodium silicate. Then, it will go through a cleaning process in which it will be washed with clean water to remove ink that had been removed by chemical process. So as you could see the process of paper is very costly and bad for the environment. Even if people would recycle them it will just save some space in the landfill.

Plastic comes from the oil deposit. it happens at the oil refineries where they make the plastic. From the drill site oil will be pumped nto large pipes that leads to oil refineries where the plastic would be made. Plastic is not that bad it helps technology advancement and researches. Although plastic does not quickly decay. It will take atleast up to 50 years for the plastic to decay. It could be good for the environment. Firstly it is just a recycled material coming from oil, which could we say is a hazardous material when returned to the environment. And plastic can be remolded and shifted in many ways.
In conclusion we could say that when buying at a grocery store and asked which bag to use paper or plastic chose plastic.
